meeting japanese living culture / nidus
Architecture
and dramaturgy.
Dialogue between
Germany and Japan.
The dramaturgy, atmosphere and materiality of Japanese living culture are strongly intertwined with the design of the Sankt Göres residential building by NIDUS Architekten. The project blends seamlessly into the striking architecture of the immediate neighborhood in Düsseldorf Kaiserswerth. Classic forms, arched oak windows and regional materials quote the architectural surroundings and blend in with the cityscape.
ARCHITECTURAL OFFICE
IMAGE MATERIAL
The architecture of Sankt Göres mediates between inside and outside: floor-to-ceiling windows, sunken areas and light materials create airy living spaces. The natural materials of wood, concrete and glass create an exceptionally calming indoor climate.
Inspired by Japanese bath culture.
Inspired by Japanese bathroom culture, NIDUS has designed the bathrooms like living spaces: spacious, inviting and calming - rooms that are transformed from once functional areas into living spaces. The motif of traditional Japanese baths was translated into the subject of the architecture using a reduced design language and the outstanding materiality of the COMO taps and BOÉ collection.
